An
esstential part to the wine making process process is the fruit base. A
fruit base is fruit that have been ground, pressed, and/or strained to
the consistency of a soft paste or thick liquid. In the olden days a
fruit base was made by workers stepping on the grapes to make a mushy
grape juice. Now a days fruit base can be purchased canned, and in a
variety of fruits other than just grapes.
