Grape
concentrate is grape juice that has been concentrated into a very sweet
syrup. Like the canned fruit
bases, grape concentrate takes out the process of having to
crush the grapes manually. Using grape concentrates has
both, pros and cons. One of the cons is that the concentrates are not
always made by quality grapes. Another con is that several qualities
for which particular grapes might be valued in winemaking, gets lost
during the concentration process. A few pros however are, that they are
perfect for areas where grapes simply don't grow, you don't need to
contend with hauling, crushing and pressing bulk grapes , and
weak-bodied wines can be improved by adding a small amount of
concentrate .
